Katrin Padel

Lighting Designer

I am a Lighting Designer primarily based in the South-East of England.

Passionate about exploring the intersections between technically accurate, contextually relevant and aesthetically beautiful, I endeavour to create well-balanced, high quality lighting designs for every project, regardless of scale. I studied at Rose Bruford, graduating with a first class degree in Lighting Design.

I'm interested in balancing technical and creative skills, so I'm currently reading Mathematics and Computer Science at Oxford University.

36 was a contemporary dance experience in which 36 one-litre bottles each filled with 750ml of water were thrown and caught over 1,000 times in 20 minutes. I explored the contrast between the ferocity of motion at head height and stillness at floor level. 36 was performed as part of When Performance Goes Right, a wider evening consisting of the dance piece, a short presentation and a gallery/installation.

Performance dates 4th – 5th April 2014

Venue Richmix, Shoreditch
